Voter Registration :
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be at least 18 years old by Election Day
Must be a resident of Michigan and the 81st House District
Register in person at a Michigan Secretary of State branch office or the clerk in the city or township in which you vote. Please bring a photo ID.
Register by mail by completing the Voter Registration Application and return to your local city or township clerk’s office.
Update your voter registration:
If you have moved recently you may change your address online through ExpressSOS, by mail or in person at a Michigan Secretary of State branch office or your local city or township clerk’s office.
If you legally changed your name, re-register to vote in person at a Michigan Secretary of State branch office. Bring legal documentation of the name change such as a marriage license or court papers.
Absentee Voting:
Absent voter ballots are available to registered voters for all elections.
Eligibility:
A registered voter may obtain an absent voter ballot for any reason. It is important to fill your absentee ballot out early to ensure it gets to your clerk in time.
Applying for an Absentee Ballot:
In Person at your local clerk’s office.
Return a completed form to your local clerk.
Track the status of your ballot on the Secretary of State’s Website
Online at the Secretary of State’s Website until October 25.
returning your Absentee Ballot:
In Person at your local city or township clerk’s office.
Mail to your local clerk’s office.
Drop at an Absentee Ballot Drop Box (Ballots must be dropped in the drop box that coincides with your voting jurisdiction. For example, if registered to vote in Grand Rapids Township, you may ONLY return your ballot to the Grand Rapids Township Dropbox.

Eligibility Requirements (at least one of the following):
Active Duty: an active duty member of the Uniformed Services or Merchant Marine;
Family of Active Duty: an eligible spouse or family member of an active duty member of the Uniformed Services or Merchant Marine; or
Reside Abroad: a U.S. citizen residing outside the U.S.
Applying for an Absentee Ballot:
Complete the Federal PostCard Application (FPCA). Michigan does not require a witness signature. Return form to your local clerks office by email, or mail.
