You and I share a vision for a state with thriving school districts, affordable college education, bodily autonomy, safe communities, and abundant clean water.
In my second term as State Representative for the 76th District, I sponsored and cosponsored a variety of legislation to meet the needs of our community. I also have the privilege of serving on the House Appropriations Committee and subcommittees on Department of Education, Department of Health and Human Services and as Democratic Vice-Chair on the subcommittee for the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development/ Department of Natural Resources.
Serving the Grand Rapids community is my way of life. I’ve led and contributed to initiatives in West Michigan for nearly twenty years. Before serving as State Representative, I worked for Dig Deep helping small and mid-sized cities finance and deliver water infrastructure planning initiatives, and projects. You may know me best from my work to build environmental education experiences, protect our water and promote clean energy at West Michigan Environmental Action Council . Maybe you recall my work as the Executive Director of West Grand Neighborhood Organization, the months I spent co-founding Local First, or perhaps from my years at Metro Health Hospital. Whatever the case, I was doing positive work that put people first, with the planet and profit balanced alongside, and I have continued that fight as your state representative.
My family is invested here and we are committed to ensuring that our neighbors have the resources we need to thrive. That is why I'm running for re-election for Michigan's new 81st House District seat.
Like you, we won't watch the progress of our families, school districts, and cities crumble under a deluge of bad decisions from state and federal lawmakers. My husband Dave and I are raising two girls, ages 11 & 13, and we are committed to making Michigan the Greatest Great Lake State once again. We are all-in and will continue to put the hard work in to protect the 76th House District for Grand Rapids and Michigan. I hope you can find some way to help us toward that goal.
